Studying in Würzburg
In general, the study location is Würzburg. Due to the degree programme’s application-oriented approach, individual courses seek specific connection to practice.
Würzburg has a long tradition as a student city. In the middle of Germany, the Bavarian city hosts 30,000 students at three higher education institutions: Würzburg University (Julius-Maximilians-Universität), University of Music, University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS). Gastronomy and leisure facilities are geared to this.
Cultural events offer a varied and divers programme throughout the year - from concerts, e.g. the Mozart Festival, Würzburg Bach-Days, Africa Festival, over theatres to fun fairs and markets. Wine lovers will soon appreciate the location and culinary delights, for example annual wine festivals in the summer. Sites like the Residence Palace, UNESCO World Cultural Heritage and one of the most renowned Baroque castles, or the old bridge “Alte Mainbrücke” and the Fortress symbolize the city’s appearance as one being open to the world outside, but at the same time compact and private.
In close proximity of Würzburg and easily to reach by train or car, there are not only opportunities to hike the national parks Spessart and Rhön, but also interesting city destinations like the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bamberg, the idyllic Rothenburg ob der Tauber, or Nuremberg, city of toy fairs and the famous Christmas market.
